Principal's Message

Welcome back Eagles! Welcome 6th graders! Welcome back parents, guardians, and caregivers!
Thank you for choosing Montebello Intermediate School as your place to learn and grow.
This is going to be a transformational year with growth and change on our campus, in our classrooms, and in our students!
Our campus is changing before our very eyes with our temporary classrooms being installed and our main building being being modernized. It will take a long time and require a lot of patience but in the end it will be worth it. Our main building will have an elevator, a new exterior, and our classrooms will be completely renovated with new windows, upgraded technology, and remodeled interiors.
Montebello Intermediate School’s educational philosophy is aligned with and supports the Montebello Unified School District’s goals and objectives and we take our job of preparing our students for a successful high school experience very seriously.

We believe in educating the complete child and our approach is trust-centered and student-based. We believe that this approach is important for grades 6-8 since these years are marked by significant physical, social, emotional and academic changes that require the careful guidance and support of all adults. At our school, we are keenly aware of the importance of this state of development and our programs reflect the diverse needs of the emerging adolescent.

Staff, students, and parents work together to create a learning environment that has high expectations, promotes students’ academic and social development, teaches responsibility and pride, and the models learning as a lifelong adventure. We are excited about our school and its program and welcome all to support our efforts.
