For Our Families and Community

The Montebello Unified School District is committed to maintaining schools that provide safe and healthy learning environments.

After receiving results of an environmental test on a sample taken from a computer cart and tablet, which contained nominal traces of asbestos, the District took immediate action and cleaned the area while conducting a second test of the same area.  The second analysis showed that no asbestos was detected.

In an abundance of caution, the District has engaged another contractor to conduct a general assessment of the entire school for the health and safety of students and staff.  Once all tests are complete, the District will have health experts share and explain the results.

Students and teachers are continuing instructional learning within Montebello Intermediate.
